All newsKošík.cz and Kaufland have entered into an alliance to offer a broad range of range of private labels countrywide
The Kaufland grocery chain is joining forces with on-line supermarket Košík.cz. Through this alliance, Košík will offer selected Kaufland brand products for the very first time. Košík recently added new services, allowing orders from households throughout the Czech Republic. Košík is thus adding more high-quality and available groceries to its portfolio.
For the first time ever, K-Jarmark brand groceries from proven Czech manufacturers, K-Bio products produced without dyes or artificial flavours in accordance with EU organic guidelines, gluten-free or lactose-free K-Free products, gourmet K-Favorites, vegetarian and vegan K-Take it Veggie products, selected products from the K-Classic pilot brand, Czech Bruncvík beer, or for example the Bevola cosmetic line will be available on-line. In addition, both companies expect to gradually add products.
Available are almost 600 selected Kaufland-brand products that are subject to strict internal criteria. They were selected to fulfil Košík’s “Simply for everyone” philosophy, meaning high quality for a reasonable price. Košík.cz CEO Tomáš Jeřábek participated in product tastings and selection.
“We have clearly defined internal parameters for food we include in our portfolio, but at the same time all food must pass a sensory test – our taste test. With a clear conscience, we can say that the character, taste, and ingredients of our newly offered products fully correspond to the kind of food we want to have at Košík,” says Tomáš Jeřábek, CEO of Košík.cz.
Thanks to the recent extension of Košík’s delivery area to the entire Czech Republic, truly everyone will be able to have Kaufland’s products delivered. “Kaufland has thus entered the on-line world with its flagship products. Kaufland has a broad portfolio of house-brand groceries while Košík has a strong on-line platform. We see a great deal of synergy in our new alliance, including due to our shared values. We place emphasis on quality, freshness, and favourable prices along with excellent customer service,” says Stefan Hoppe, CEO of Kaufland.
According to Tomáš Jeřábek, the joint activity being undertaken by Košík and Kaufland could become an inspiration for pan-European retail.
“We’d like to demonstrate what excellent cooperation between a chain store and an on — line supermarket could look like. The world of the internet and that of brick-and-mortar stores will continue to draw closer each other, and we now have a unique chance to present a common service that puts the customer, quality of service, and convenience in first place ” says Jeřábek. “This is also why it is important that Kaufland and Košík have the same philosophy and both brands are prepared to do their utmost for the cooperative effort.”
Speed and price of delivery will differ by individual region. In Prague and Central Bohemia, Košík will deliver orders, including Kaufland products, as quickly as two hours after they are placed, and a courier service will deliver to all other locations in the Czech Republic by the next workday. In all regions the minimum order is CZK 500 and delivery is free for orders of CZK 1200 or more. Kaufland products can of course be combined in the order with the other approximately 16,000 available items.
