Rockaway Group, owned by Jakub Havrlant, has gained strategic investment partners for the development of their key activities – Daniel Křetínský and Patrik Tkáč.
The partnership of Czech Media Invest (CMI) of businessmen Daniel Křetínský and Patrik Tkáč will be beneficial for the key project of Rockaway: E-commerce Holding, into which CMI has recently invested. “We wanted to find a strong partner who has managed to build up his own successful business and goes beyond the borders of the Czech Republic. With E-commerce Holding we plan to enter European market, and a strong experienced partner will play an essential role in this plan,” Jakub Havrlant, founder and CEO of Rockaway, explains motives for concluding the partnership.
“I see the project E-commerce Holding as an interesting opportunity with a great potential which can suitably complement our main internet activities, i.e. the on-line division of Czech News Center,” Daniel Křetínský, chairman of the board of directors of CMI, says.

Both parties have agreed on not publishing any details of the contract, including the price.
E-commerce Holding introduces a network of specialized e-shops which has more than 1.5 million customers. Internet shops with sports equipment Sporty.cz and Snowboards.cz have recently been diversified with shops with fashion and goods for children: “Before we started cooperation with the new partner, we had broadened the portfolio with shopping club Bigbrands, and we also plan another project in fashion segment,” Jan Jírovec says. “In the plan we announced there was also a segment of children´s goods which is represented by e-shop Prodeti.cz, the top player in the sale of children´s goods,” Jan Jírovec says. In a short term, existing verticals shall be complemented with another one to be announced in October.
Internet shops of E-commerce Holding portfolio share key activities such as the information system, marketing, logistics and customer service, which functions as a competitive advantage and guarantees higher efficiency than is typical of standard management.
