All newsBileto Enters Next Phase: It Finishes Product for Global Market
Bileto is about to finish a new platform for carriers in the whole world. After having been tested on Czech market, Eastern Europe and Brazil will follow.
„Most people associate Bileto with the aggregate Bileto.cz which has been operating on Czech market since summer 2014. After it was launched, we have continued developing a global cloud platform which will provide carriers with all necessary tools to get their services to customers,” says Přemysl Rubeš, CEO of Bileto, whose team grew to 30 people within last year.
How Does Bileto Platform Work? Sale Of Tickets Is Just the Beginning.
The new product will enable carriers to sell tickets online in just a few steps: “If you are a carrier anywhere in the world and want to offer your tickets to distribution, all you need is to register online at Bileto Platform, and upload the schedule, price lists and seat maps of your vehicles. In a few minutes, you can sell your tickets via various channels: to anyone via your own e-shop, via transport aggregates such as Bileto.cz, via mobile app for iPhone, Android or Windows Phone, and also via ticket offices in the whole country as well as e.g. via booking system of your partner carriers. Drivers and conductors then have validation application in their computer or smartphone to verify validity of the tickets,” Přemysl Rubeš explains how the system works.
The aim of Bileto is to make travelling better for people by bringing new technologies. The sale of tickets itself is just a basic function. And he adds: “Among other things, we also deal with yield management (dynamic management of prices as passengers know it e.g. in air transportation), or advanced data analytics which are aspects that can make the operation more efficient for carriers, “ Přemysl Rubeš says.
Several Czech carriers have already been using the new platform in test version and expansion to new markets is planned for this year. Intensive discussions have been in progress in several countries in Eastern Europe as well as in Brazil.
Bileto is in the portfolio of investment group Rockaway belonging to Jakub Havrlant. Last year, Rockaway carried out 20 investments and launched several projects including Bileto on its own. This year, Rockaway plans to strengthen its e-commerce activities in European region and continue with investments into technological start-ups with global ambitions.
