All news“Let’s save jobs in the restaurant industry!” Storyous is preparing to offer work to people who have lost their jobs in the restaurant industry
Restaurateurs throughout the Czech Republic have been severely tested in recent months. It is abundantly clear that many people will lose their jobs (hopefully temporarily, in some cases). Storyous, which develops technology for the restaurant industry, is therefore now trying to help them. It is launching a programme entitled “Save jobs in the restaurant industry”, which will offer work to people who have lost their jobs in the restaurant industry due to anti-pandemic measures.
“We want to at least partly support those who will lose their jobs in the coming weeks. In this situation, it’s certainly not the fault of the businesses themselves if they have to close. At Storyous we will be glad to welcome people who have hands-on experience with restaurant operation. They will be able to give us unique feedback on our product and the needs of restaurants and their employees,” says Igor Třeslín, CEO of Storyous.
Storyous is already prepared to employ people who have lost their restaurant jobs. They will join the company’s sales or product team, which is currently primarily offering restaurants an on-line system for ordering take-out food under terms that are incomparably better than those offered by standard delivery companies. “The commission charged on a take-out meal order in the OneMenu application is a mere 3-4 %, in contrast to the roughly 40 % charged by delivery services. This is of course much better for restaurants, which can thus accept more orders under better terms from their existing customers in their vicinity,” explains Třeslín.
The company has been promoting digitization of this sector for quite some time now. Due to the pandemic, digitization now no longer means just more professional operation, but above all increased hygiene and safety of both staff and customers.
“Digital technologies are touchless and safe. We want to offer as many people as possible the option of both ordering and paying for their food from home, and them merely picking it up at the restaurant. This will help connect restaurants and their customers in a very efficient manner. Restaurants will have an increasing need for a digital solution that will accelerate operation while cutting costs, which is why we also want to expand our sales team,” says Třeslín. In his opinion, restaurants will need a comprehensive solution that allows restaurants to take on-line orders for both delivery and take-out, and in the case of classical table service offers the ability to provide a digital menu and lets customers order and pay from their mobile phones. “Last but not least, we will be happy if we help at least a few people who due to the pandemic have lost their jobs,” he says.
People can apply to these positions themselves, or they can be recommended by co-workers or a former employer. For more information, see zachrangastro.cz.
