All newsThe height of Christmas fever is here. MALL.cz extends its branches’ opening times by three hundred hours and guarantees deliveries of orders from 22 December
Two weeks remain until Christmas Eve and while a quarter of Czechs started this year’s Christmas preparations and shopping for gifts in September, 30% of Czechs essentially do their shopping a few days before Christmas eve according to a survey conducted by MALL.cz. And it is those shoppers to whom MALL.cz is offering a helping hand. In December, the e-shop reinforced its locations with the addition of dozens of workers and extended their opening hours.
More than three hundred hours beyond the usual opening times
The MALL.cz internet retailer has extended the opening hours of its shops. All twenty-one MALL.cz locations throughout the Czech Republic are now open four hours longer from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and two hours longer on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The branches will also be open on Sunday until the holidays, again from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. An exception is the shop in Prague’s Horní Počernice district, which will be open until 10:30 p.m., including weekends, until 23 December. The e-shop also dispatches large items to this location, which makes it ideal for those who choose to put, for example, a large household appliance under the tree. “There are more and more customers who prefer in-person pickup. In comparison with September, the number of such orders has increased by more than 180% at all locations,” says Oldřich Bajer, CEO of MALL Group, adding: “In order to make this year’s holidays truly happy and to ensure that buying gifts doesn’t bring unnecessary stress, we decided to extend the opening hours of all MALL shops by more than three hundred hours.” At the same time, the teams at the e-shop’s various locations have been supplemented with dozens of additional workers prior to Christmas so that customers won’t be stressed or spend an excessive amount of time in queues when picking up their orders. Eighty percent of MALL.cz customers still leave with their orders within three to five minutes. The e-shop is able to serve the remaining 20% of customers within a maximum of ten minutes.
Last-minute gift orders
The e-shop advises customers not to delay choosing gifts and to start making their orders as soon as possible. If a customer wants to have a parcel delivered to an address, MALL.cz recommends that goods be ordered no later than 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, 19 December. It also recommends selecting in-person pickup at its MALL Shop locations as the safest way to make last-minute purchases. Customers can place their orders almost until the final moment before Christmas Eve. MALL.cz guarantees delivery of orders placed on 22 December by 8:00 pm, which customers will be able to pick up the next day.
The e-shop will also still deliver orders to MALL Boxes on 23 December, in which case customers must place orders by 22 December. In the case of partner MALL Points, it is necessary to order farther in advance, by 19 December. In-person pickup at MALL Shops, partner MALL Points and MALL Boxes, of which the e-shop has more than 700 in total, is free of charge. Information on the availability of goods is always important. Customers can also find the guaranteed delivery date in their online shopping cart.
